Seattle, WA June 10, 2004 – The U.S. Patent Office has issued patent number 6,630,511, entitled "Water-soluble salts of 2-difluoromethyl-2 ,5-diaminopentanoic (GAF) at Rolland Hebert of Seattle. The patent issued October 7, 2003, reveals new compositions of matter comprising AGFA and chitosan. The FDA has approved DFMO, also known as eflornithine for treatment of hirsutism (excessive facial hair) in women. AGFA an inhibitor of ornithine decarboxylase, is also studied in an advanced stage of clinical trials for the prevention of breast, colon and skin cancer.
